LIFE. LEARNING. FREEDOM.
The journey as it happens

The Rural Thailand Lifestyle Journal

Real life, real lessons and a record of what Prae and I are building — not a collection of generic marketing articles.

This is where I will document progress, setbacks, experiments, everyday Thailand, the online business, Rural Thailand Shop and the longer road towards our future plans.

The first Journal entries

Start With These

These first two articles establish the kind of Journal I want to build: useful lessons drawn from things I have actually experienced.

Building Online · What I Am Learning

Why I Stopped Chasing the Next Online Opportunity

After spending more than £38,000 and hundreds of hours trying different ways to build an income online, I realised that the next opportunity was not what I needed. I needed to build something of my own.

Why it matters: buying another tool or programme can feel like progress even when it delays the harder work of building an audience, trust and something useful.

What I Am Learning · Tools & Resources

Before You Spend Another Penny Online

A practical checklist built from the questions I wish I had asked before spending money on online business tools, courses, platforms and opportunities.

Why it matters: sometimes the most valuable next step is not another purchase. It is asking better questions before making one.

Why I am documenting it

A Journal, Not a Highlight Reel

I do not want to publish only when something goes well. If this becomes useful, it will be because it records the decisions and the reality behind them.

That includes what works, what does not work, what I spend, what I learn, what changes and why I change my mind.

Over time, the Journal should also become the source material for the social media network around Rural Thailand Lifestyle. One genuine experience can become an article, a short video, a Facebook post, an Instagram idea or a Pinterest post — with the full story always living here.

The website is the record. Social media is how people discover the record.

Start at the Beginning

The best place to begin is with the experience that changed how I approach online business and what I decided to do differently.
